Janet Sims, viola

Janet Sims is a member of the San Jose Symphony, Ballet San Jose of Silicon Valley, and a founding member of the San Jose String Quartet and the San Jose Chamber Players. Ms. Sims holds the position of Principal Viola with the Midsummer Mozart and the Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestras, and has been guest soloist with the Desert Foothills Music Festival each season since its premier. An active performer throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, she has appeared in many chamber music recitals including performances on such series as Music at Kohl Mansion, Performances at Six, Composer’ Inc., Trinity Chamber Series and the San Jose Chamber Music Society. She has also appeared regularly as a soloist with the Music in the Mountains Festival and the Sinfonia San Francisco. She is a graduate of Stanford University and is currently on the faculty of the Santa Clara University Department of Music.
